A Study of Religious Ethics, Ethical Sources and Criteria in Book of Gathas

The purpose of the study is to investigate the roots of Gathas ethics system. This article examines the type of religious ethics in Gathas (religious ethics based on The Realization of Divine Attributes or Natural Law or Divine Command), and, on the other hand, the study of the ethical ontological and epistemological sources, and ethical criteria (Virtue or Deontological or Teleological Ethics). The method of this research is descriptive-analytic and library-based for collecting information. At the end, the dominant approach of religious ethics in Gathas is based on the realization of divine attributes and to a degree based on the natural law. The ethical ontological source is essentiality and inherence. The dominant epistemological source of ethical goodness and badness is rationality but in some details is legitimacy. The ethical criteria is Virtue Ethics based on Consequentialism.
