This study provides a critical analysis of the dialectical nature of artificial intelligence in moral education and conceptualizes the fundamental conflict between the “instrumental logic of technology” and the “ethical logic of education.” Employing a qualitative approach based on conceptual analysis, the research systematically examines the opportunities and challenges of this field and seeks to answer the key question of how this tension can be addressed within an Islamic–Iranian value framework. The findings indicate that while artificial intelligence creates unprecedented capacities for the personalization of moral learning experiences, it simultaneously introduces inherent threats such as algorithmic bias, the erosion of human relationships, and the weakening of moral agency. To address these challenges, a capacity-building and responsibility-oriented framework is proposed, grounded in principles such as human sovereignty over technology, the ultimate responsibility of educators, and the integration of human supervision with algorithmic analysis. The study ultimately emphasizes the necessity of formulating a national policy framework based on the triad of “human–ethics–technology”, so that artificial intelligence may become an opportunity for the moral advancement of future generations.
