Anthropology is considered one of the most important philosophical issues and a platform for moral discussions. In this study, to explain the nature of man, three interpretations have been expressed: “interpretation of mankind as nature”, which took place in the period of modernism, according to which man is a creature equal to nature; “Interpretation of mankind as God” which arises from the technological developments of the postmodernist period and indicates the transcendence of man from material limitations and the realization of the ideal of immortality and “interpretation of mankind as mankind” which is derived from Islamic thought. This research was written by descriptive-analytic method with the aim of explaining the position of interpretation of mankind as mankind along with the other two interpretations and determining the function of this interpretation in the field of ethics. The findings indicate that by considering the basis of interpretation of mankind as mankind, the fallacies of other interpretations are revealed, and by referring the ambiguous mankind to the unambiguous mankind, these fallacies are eliminated. It is also on this basis that the necessity of being moral can be inferred, and a necessity can be established between moral understanding and the necessity of moral action.
