Ethics is one the fields about which many thinkers have claimed that its existence and authority is independent and needless of God. Martyre Moteza Motahhari is one of the Muslim thinkers that by no means does not agree with this opinion, He in many his works has tried to show that God is both the origin and end of ethics, and the support of ethics. Our crucial problem in this essay is to show, with a comprehensive look at his works and reconstruction their different sections, how and with what unifying idea does he explain the dependence ethics upon theology. Our answer, which comes from his works, is that human ‘Self’ is a graded being that its lower grades is called imaginative ‘Self’ and higher grades is called genuine ‘Self’. imaginative ‘Self’ causes anti-ethic and human genuine ‘Self’ is creator ethics. God is higher human ‘Self’ and knowledge and belief in God is the ultimate human perfection. Therefore, God is the origin, end and support of ethics. Based on it, it can be said human genuine ‘Self ‘is linking category or unifying idea by which Motahhari justifies dependence of ethics upon theology.
