One of the most important moral principles in Imam Khomeini's thought is the commitment to the principle of "neutrality" in evaluating and judging the opinions and actions of individuals regardless of their religious, nationality, political affiliation, or kinship ties with us. According to the findings of the article, this principle is expressed in the words of the Imam with expressions such as "having a right and impartial opinion", "no-opinion", "expressing opinions freely and without love, hatred and prejudice", "judging the goodness or badness of an action without considering its perpetrators", and for such a commitment, he calls on us to observe rational and moral standards. In this article, using a descriptive-analytical method and considering the background of this discussion in moral philosophy, we first tried to answer the question: What formulation of the principle of "neutrality" can be presented based on the words of the Imam, and what are the criteria or rational and moral foundations of this principle? After formulating the principle of “neutrality”, we have shown that the aforementioned criteria include “right-mindedness and seeking evidence”, “compatibilism”, “intrinsic and rational goodness and ugliness of actions”, and “generalizability”.
