A Methodological Introduction on the Compilation of Ethical Codes in Technical Environments (an Islamic Approach)

| This study, relying on Islamic Moral Teachings, has analyzed methodological principles of the compilation of ethical codes suitable for technical environments. In the study, virtue ethics approach and functional approach have been brought into consideration. Giving weight to the two approaches in moral duties as compliment and to plurality method and taking a multidisciplinary attitude may be counted as the attitude of the study. Though thechnology in itself is exposed to some moral flaws, there may be found many moral virtues in Islamic teachings for supporting morality in technical environment. As explained in the paper, such moral obligations as dutifulness, experience, knowledge, precision, punctuality, caring the body, elegance, trustworthiness, far-sightedness, lawfulness, freedom, satisfaction and economizing in two aspects of environmental and grganizational requirements as moral codes have been emphasized. |
